Duas Online
A library of Shia duas, ziyarats and amaal that works out what to read right now, from the time of day, the weekday and the Islamic date, and follows the recitation line by line. Built on my own time in September 2026, because reading duas on a phone had been hard work for years, and I had complained about that for long enough without doing anything about it.
Most of us read our duas off a phone now: Kumayl on a Thursday night, Ziyarat Ashura in the morning, the amaal of a particular night. The sites that hold the texts have served the community for years and I owe them a lot, but reading on a phone there is hard work: small type, Arabic and English fighting for one screen, nothing that remembers how you like to read. I had complained about it for years whilst doing nothing, which was mostly on me.
So I built the reader I wanted. Over two hundred duas, ziyarats and amaal, every one with its source named on the page, duas.org first of all. The home page suggests what to read for the moment, from the time of day, the day of the week and the Hijri date. Press Listen and the line being recited is highlighted and kept in view. Press Present and one line fills the screen at a time, for a mosque, a majlis or the living room. Four text sizes, Arabic alone or with the English, dark or light, a search that forgives your spelling, and every page kept on your device so the duas read with no signal. As far as I know, the first Shia dua library to follow the recitation line by line.
Name, mark, interface and code are all mine, built in a few weeks and checked against the source texts line by line. Pages are built in advance and served from the edge, so one opens in a moment anywhere in the world. There is a roadmap readers vote on, and English audio is next. This website has been built by a believer in need of your duas.
